Peak Mines is a medium size gold mining operation located in the Cobar Gold Field of Central West New South Wales, Australia that commenced production in 1992. Peak Mines also produces copper concentrate which is sold to markets in Asia.
Peak Mines employs a total of 300 people including 250 employees and 50 contractors. Our recruitment process aims at securing quality people who will ensure the continued success of our operation.
The mine operates at full capacity, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The shift roster involves working four days 'on' and four days 'off' in a continuous rotation. At the end of every shift there is a handover to ensure that those starting work are up-to-date with work activities. Prior to starting work, all employees are involved in a 'pre-start safety meeting' as part of New Gold Inc.'s constant commitment to safety.
